2008 Seminar Listing:June or July, 2008- Pet 1st Aid and Emergency Preparedness Seminar Series Maplewood Animal Care & Training, Inc will be offering a series of mini-lectures/demos on Pet 1st Aid and Emergency Preparedness presented by Dr Kathy Snider, DVM and Veterinary Technician Lisa Hirtle of Norwell Veterinary Hospital. The series will be held at a date TBD at With an E Farm in Franklin, MA. Cost for the series TBD. Registration will be limited to 12 people, and people may register on-line and mail in a check via the postal service. Topics covered will include- when to call the vet, signs of shock, basic bandaging and wound care, normal body temperature, heart rate and respiratory rate for dogs, heat stroke and hypothermia, over the counter medications safe to give your dog and in what amounts, signs of infection, safe pet handling practices in an emergency including muzzling and restraint, common house hold toxins, what to have in a Pet 1st Aid Kit, important phone numbers to have on hand, etc. Please consider coming to this very important series.
