MAP Service Dogs, A Path to a New Life...

Maplewood Assistance Partners, Inc. is a non profit 401(c)3 New England based Service Dog organization that strives to provide exceptional quality trained service animals.

Notice: We will be closed May 31 - June 8, 2008.  During these times we will be unreachable by phone or e-mail.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

MAP works one on one with its clients striving to match the right dog with the right handler.  It can never be forgotten that MAP stresses the team work needed to make a partnership work successful.  We are not a large scale program, we prefer to get to know our clients and dogs over a longer period of time than many programs, to ensure that the team is going to work for many years to come.  We also strive to include our clients in the training and selection process of their future partner, when ever feasible.

We only service New England states- Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont & Maine.

At this time, MAP, Inc is moving its efforts more to our Owner-Trainer Program as opposed to our Facility Trained program.  The reason for this change in direction is due to the lack of funding, space, foster homes, and dogs that we need to keep our Facility Trained program up and running.  We will still train a limited number of Facility Dogs per year, but the majority of our time and energies will be spent with our Owner-Trainers.

*As of May 1, 2007, MAP is NO LONGER training epilepsy and diabetes alert dogs.  Current client obligations will be fulfilled but no new alert dog clients will be accepted.*

Please read our About Service Dogs page to learn what a service dog is.  This will hopefully clear up much of the misunderstanding on who would qualify for a service dog in MAP's program.

If you have spoken with us either on the phone or via e-mail and have decided to set up an interview, please fill out the Application and get it to us at least 1 week prior to your initial interview.

We also offer a "Dog Search Service" where we aid you in finding the correct dog for your needs.

If your pet is having an animal related medical emergency (your dog is vomiting, diarrhea, not eating, lethargic, ingested something he shouldn't have- a sock, poison, glass, etc- please CALL or IMMEDIATELY GO TO your Regular Veterinarian, your nearest 24hr Emergency Vet Clinic (local ones are: Tufts VETS in Walpole at 508 668 5454, Angell in Boston at 617 522 7282, New England Animal Medical Center in W. Bridgewater at 508 580 2515), or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Hotline at 800 426 4435.  We also highly recommend that you keep important phone numbers regarding your animal (regular vet, emergency vet & poison control) in a visible and easily accessible place in your home and car at all times.  Thank you and good luck!
